Hanlie and I don’t only share a love for beautiful, vintage items – but we’re both also fans of Elie Saab’s simple designs and delicate detailing. She didn’t want a big white wedding dress, but rather something simple and classically styled.

Fashioned from the most beautiful beaded lace, her nude and antique coloured dress had long lace sleeves, a high neckline and a small train. Her back was detailed with buttons and her waist with a velvet ribbon belt.

Looking through their wedding pics, I can’t help but let my imagination wander to a place where daring knights and beautiful maidens live. A place where romance is rife and all is fair in love and war. I imagine her there. Being swept up by the love of her life. And living happily ever after.
