So when we were expecting our first born (feels like a lifetime ago!!) we did a maternity shoot and Maryke was actually the lady behind the lens. She made us feel so comfortable and cared for and so, when she made an appointment to discuss the ideas for her wedding dress, I was absolutely elated. As a photographer, she obviously has an artistic flair and I just love working with creative brides, but moreover, that was a very special time for us and having her be part of that journey, has forever cemented her in our lives. And now I had the opportunity to, in a way, return the favour. To sow back into her life in a significant way.

From the get-go, Maryke knew exactly what she wanted: a one-of-a-kind creation with a strong bohemian influence.

As much as I love our country, lace options are (sadly) somewhat limited. Hence we decided to create a custom-lace bodice by sewing a variety of crocheted and embroidered lace trimmings together. In striking contrast to the textured top, was a flowing silk chiffon skirt.

I think the end result is absolutely boho-eautiful and such a sincere expression of the bohemian spirit. Love!
