This journey was so special for a few reasons. Firstly, Fiona is a photographer and it’s always a pleasure (and huge priveledge) to design a dress for a fellow industry supplier. Secondly, she’s incredibly creative. I find that creativity feeds creation and so it definitely makes for an inspiring and enriching experience. Aside from the above, the journey was a joy just due to the person she is: warmhearted, gentle, beautiful inside and out!
Re: her dress. She came to me with a gorgeous idea for a bodice with bold lace. The latter would form a very wide V-neck, exposing her shoulders slightly to create an almost off-the-shoulder look. We did this by making a nude bustier with an illusion tulle top. We then detailed the bodice with beaded lace (so gorg!) and big embroidered flowers. We finished the look with a layered soft Italian tulle skirt with a long train. I love how the lace of the bodice seamlessly blends into the skirt and finally just fades away. The end result was so dreamy and romantic and in my opinion, the perfect dress for this princess pretty bride.
