Ammi

Perfectly polished from top to toe, Ammi epitomizes elegance and timeless beauty.

It was a such pleasure and privilege to get to know her and her stunning mother, and the entourage of  lovely ladies who accompanied her to every fitting. It was a beautiful thing to witness these women bond and blossom in their kinship and closeness as they shared this special journey with Ammi.

The top of her beautiful boat-neck gown was fashioned from a nude lining which we layered with an exquisite beaded lace. Additional lace motifs were worked onto the skirt and elongated sleeves. Since the bride and groom are both big dancers we decided to plump up her classic A-line satin skirt with a wide detachable tulle underlay – which she could remove when they inevitably hit the dance-floor.

I stumbled upon these very wise words from Vijai P. Sharma, Ph.D. I found it to be such a perfect analogy for this dancing duo, so with much love, here it is:

Marriage is like a dance. In a dance both partners have to be closely attentive to each other and coordinate their steps. In order to keep the dance going, they have to be constantly moving and making a concerted effort to render the dance. While dancing, the duo gets close, very close, and then each of the partner steps back to give each other elbowroom to dance a little on their own. The work of deepening the relationship in a marriage never stops, just as the movement of dancers never stops until they intend to stop the dance.
